Morning Reflections
I like to open my day with some self-reflection and devotion to God; I have found that it deepens my relationship and sets me on the path of a productive and thankful day. I’d like to share my thoughts on a morning reflection and devotion with you.
Morning routines set the tone for the day. Engraining the habit of getting up and preparing for the day helps energize and focus me, and it allows me to start my day with purpose and focus. If I miss my quiet reflection and devotion, the rest of my day feels off! With my daily devotion, I am blessed with increased peace, clarity, and spiritual nourishment.
After I awake and perform my morning ablutions, gather my coffee, look outside to check the sky and weather, I wander off to my study to sit and prepare my mind and soul. I am an early riser, and the house is usually very quiet in the early hours, and I have a comfy spot to sit with my coffee and read my bible.
I’ll sit quietly and calm my mind, and consciously let myself relax and allow the tension to flow away. I like to start in the Gospels – Matthew is usually a favorite! I’ll read some passages, and pray for guidance and wisdom through the day. After I’ve spent some time in devotion, I always feel better prepared to start my day. Some of it is the coffee I’m sure, but I do feel alert, energized, focused, and with a clarity of mind that today will be a good day!
I encourage you to begin your own day with reflection and devotion, see if you can build your healthy habit and practice, and I would love to hear from you on what works and what you’ve incorporated!
Peace and blessings to you all!
